Joined after starting a LS engine swap project
I have had a 1980 RX7 GS sitting around for years begging for something to be done to it. So when I had a chance to pick up a 5.3L LM7 for $150 I was excited to get started.
Pic of car, it was gonna get a 13B swap.... but this is so much better!
and the 5.3L LM7 from 2000 Silverado 1500 with only 70K for $150!
I got the complete engine harness with it, so now I am sourcing other needed parts. This won't be my first SBC V8 swap into a mazda even. I helped my buddy put a 350 4bbl shorty headers, TH350 into his 1991 Mazda B2200. It fit better than this does... and parts were cheaper. I am looking at over 2K after I pick up a T-56.
I am happy to find this site and have a lot of reading to do...

Update:
I now have 75% of my needed parts. Just bought a used T56 and its on its way right now, founds some Headman Snug Fit headers that work perfect to clear my steering gear box. Solid engine mounts are bolted onto engine but need to weld brackets from sub-frame up. I started making a shopping list of still needed parts and it is longer than I hoped at this point. Just about to hit $3k on the build. Pics to come...

Looks like a good project, wish I had the money for an engine swap, or atleast to give me a reason to pull another engine out
Sounds like you got a great deal on the engine. Keep it up with pics and updates. Any questions there's great people on here that are always willing to help
Good luck on the project
