I bought my WS.6 just specifically for the OEM ram air hood, speedlines, and higher resale value but if i could do it all over again i'd probably just buy a regular T/A. Wanting a M6 is worth selling your car for, wanting just a WS.6 is not worth selling your car for. How you feel about your car not being a WS.6 is how I feel about my car not being an '02, but my car's exactly everything any '02 is just not the last production year so I feel your pain. Don't know what kind of condition your car is in but you have a great car and if it's your DD then I suggest you keep your car and mod it, then lose money buying the exact thing you already have for the sake of just knowing it's a true WS.6. But then again it is damn nice to say "Yeah, it says WS.6 on the rear bumper and inside the door!" haha

These days you can buy a regular T/A and a superhawk hood and a decent set of wheels for the price of a ws6.

People in the know realize that a "real" ws6 isnt a big deal at all. Like mentioned previously, it's a hood, a front swaybar, 17" wheels, and a power steering cooler...not worth the thousands more they usually cost compared to a regular TA.

Ram Air hood -$500-750ish
Strano Sway Bars (Much better than WS6 Setup)-$400
Aftermarket catback -$350-750

Pick out whatever you want for wheels with some drag radials and bam...you're much better performing than a factory WS6 for a few thousand bucks...

Also, you know WS6's came in automatics and manual trannys, right?

I have an 89 Ws6 auto and agree with what's said.
Here's a cool upgrade: 4L80E with six speeds and paddle shift: http://www.tciauto.com/tc/6x-six-speed-transmission-package-gm-bellhousing-paddle-shifter.html

Way Cool!

Bummer That link didn't work! Yeh I was really close to just getting the hood and modding what I have, But with 130k on the clock and an auto tranny, I figure I might as well just restart with something I can love and take care of now that I am older and wiser. Ive taken great care of the car, but I really cant say that for the previous owners. The paint looks like it was driven through the rainforest. Resale value also plays a key role, and Like Snake Skinner said, I'm definately going for the 02 model. If I can get what Im lookin for from another enthusiast who has taken great care of the car, for just a few grand more than what I could sell mine for, I am game. I do plan on keeping the car for a very long time, So I figure I might as well start with what I want before putting more money into my Trans Am. lol So far my most expensive mod is some really nice Magnaflow Dual oval Tips. They were the only ones the shop had in stock after they installed my exhaust lol

Yeh... but theres that whole bit in 20 years when I wont be kicking myself for not getting it. And I'm quite sure A real WS6 will fetch a higher resale value down the road, beings that it does already. Also, If you read through the thread you'd have seen I want an M6 and currently have an auto. So if I am buying one, I figure I might as well buy what I want. Is there really no one in agreement with my mindset???

Lol just making sure you know the facts. Plenty of people on here have Ws6's. You're right about the resale price, it will be higher. Many guys on here just care about how the car performs/bang for the buck more than the nostalgia behind a name or a badge. That being siad nobody will hate on you for driving an M6 Ws6...thats for sure! Just dont overpay for it.
