Default New to LS1 Tech

Hi, My name is Danny. I'm getting on LS1 for some info on swapping an LS in my car.

I have a 2001 V6 Mustang that I am looking into putting a cammed iron 6.0 with aluminum heads (of course I will do some porting) in.

I have been tossing the Idea around for a while of swapping in a Mod motor or an LS, and I am going to go with an LS because I work for Chevy, and I am familiar with the engine.

I know I am going to need the engine (no brainer) and the PCM and harness.

What info I need is on tranny info and such.

The car has a T5 in it now and the syncros are toast. I can rebuild it with stronger parts, but I'm not for sure if it will even work with an LS.

I know the bell housing is wrong, but I'm not for sure if I can even find a clutch kit that is for an LS, that will work with my T5 input shaft.

It will be a fairly low budget build, which is why I'm trying to keep the T5.

And info and insight will be much appreciated.
