I'd put a '70 spec 500ci in it, with some head work and a cam upgrade. You can make amazing torque with all those cubes, and it'd be so much easier to bolt in than an LS1 conversion. But I like easy projects and old tech in old cars. Plus, the 472-500ci Cadillac engines are just about the best sounding V8s ever, IMO.

Anyway, welcome and good luck with your project!

I agree on the sound of those engines. They have an extremely high nickel content as well which makes them wear very slowly too. I bought a couple of the 5200 series BB engines and planned to put one in my Cadillac, but the lack of availability of certain peformance parts and build cost detered me. I've decided to go LY6/6L90.

Sent you a PM, watched your build on the 1966 forum.
I'd love to own this car if you ever decide to sell it.
It's AWESOME!
