From Forced Induction to Introduction Hey guys - My name is Kei. I am a native of the Forced Induction world, namely the serious DSM crowd. Been through my family of Turbo AWD setups and making power to play with the big kids and finally decided I wanted to own a 'big kid' toy.
I picked up a 97 Firebird Formula with a T56 6 Speed and some work done. While the kid I saved it from didn't know a whole lot about it (His daddy let him buy it from a very knowledgeable owner) I've been doing my best to track everything down as well as the original owner. With how clean it is coupled with only have 97k miles I couldn't let it slip out from under me.
When It showed up, it had white underglow lights
, a massive wing..., stickers on the hood.........., and black lights everywhere.................. Of course none of that is still there and I've cleaned it up. It was just defiling. After many hours of inspecting, driving, and inspecting again I found it to be worth saving.
Currently I am running into an issue with the rear-end. Gears were swapped out and I'm looking to either get it re-shimmed or find a gear oil to quiet down the noise as well as figure out a frustrating clunking noise before I have fun in it. Not like I don't already have issues keeping traction with her.
In any case, here are pictures and I hope I can learn as much about this platform as I know about the DSM platform. What did I give for it, you ask? A STOCK 95 Talon TSI AWD. I'm already looking into tuning and logging options and as always - Advice is welcomed!

Nearly perfect interior

Illegal tint (Gotta love it)

Flowmaster Exhaust (Catless)
Worn Tires
Working AC
Working Heat
Working Power Steering
Low coolant fluid Light (Fluid is perfect.)
Likely old and fouled plugs (FML)
Random Misfire (Likely Ignition and very rare)
Engine is obviously not stock - Butt Dyno feels it. Pulls harder and faster than my 450AWHP DSM.
(Note) - That's a Built 3000gt VR4 two cars up, and a stock 3KGT directly in front. DSM is at the shop.
