was just looking at short blocks from TSP

i like the idea of a 427 LS7
not sure if wanna buy a pre-assembled short block or build my own. may save a little bit of $$ by building my own but then i'd have to go through the process of blueprinting and balancing it and getting all the right bearings and so forth. pre-assembled may be worth the little extra

I'm thinking just discuss with builder/tuner/racer the idea of swapping with a crate motor. Your bone stock Ls1 may offset some of the costs since there are owners that bought frankensteins that wish they could start from ground zero.
I was getting gas other day and I hear a cam pinging a few stalls away, walk over and looks like a Cadi CTS-V with Cadi v8 badges. I told him it don't sound stock, he says he put a 400 stroker in, cammed, tuned to about 550rwhp....so basically he started with the V6??? dang not a bad idea. Was prob quite cheaper than going new stock CTS-V.

i dont have any intensions on getting rid of the stock ls1. that would be my back-up if anything ever happened to the built motor. also, the ls1 isn't coming out until the new motor and all the other goodies are ready to be fitted.
and yes, i'll be doing alot of discussing and research before my final decision. i have an idea of what i want but nothing has been set in stone as of yet....
i am very open for suggestions, tips, don't-do's, precautions, what have ya by anyone who wants to share, including sponsors

Damn, that thing is clean. You did not pay too much at all. I paid 12K for my 66K mile SS, Bone stock, bought it from a grandpa! Its nice to see F-bodies that haven't been beaten on by Joe Dirt and his kin
