New guy from Illinois Hello everyone, I have recently bought a 2001 Chevy Camaro SS sunset orange convertible. It's got a 6.0l Engine with a 6 speed transmission. It does have several performance modifications done to it such as hooker long tube headers, Slp loud mouth 1 Exhaust, 5.3l heads, Comp custom grind cam, spohn panhard bar, hurst short throw shifter, Aftermarket Whisper air lid and some more small stuff.
It is a very fun car to drive all though it needs the tune worked on as it idles really high (about 2,000 rpms) when it first starts and it could have a few small bugs worked out in the tune. But it's still a fun car to drive.
I did race it at my local drag strip but didn't get much traction as it was a little bit cold out side. My fastest pass was a 12.40 with a 120mph trap speed. I only made three passes down the track and my last pass just happen to be my fastest. My first two were actually really slow like a 15.0 but my trap speed was still in the 100mph range.
Me and my uncle will be working on the tune this come spring with EFI LIVE. He has a SS camaro as well, his is a 2000 Chevy Camaro SS with 5.7L engine but more mods than mine and way faster than mine.
