Default Build question.

I'm looking to build a 4th gen Camaro for street/strip use. This is more of a drive train question I know tranny wise I'm looking towards a t56 but I'm really stuck with the question of do I want to go fuel injected or not. My brother is running a 383 crate stroker carbed with a TH400 and ford 9inch in a 64 falcon. It's a pretty heavy car and he is pushing about 520rwhp with quarter times at about 11.20 with a trans brake. He is 14 yrs older than me and if always wanted to build something faster than him which is hard cuz I'm a newb and he was a master tech and an absolute genius when it comes to pushrod motors. My question is should I do ls1 build or a lsx of a different displacement. Also which read end should I lean towards. My end goal is 10s cuz he built the motor with a power adder in mind down the road either nitrous or pro charger. I want to beat him N/A.
