Default 383 Stoker with an LS1?

What would be required to stroke out an LS1? 5.7 aluminium block.

Buy a stroker kit from texas speed and have block machined for larger stroke. I think im gonna do a 408 stroker next year with the 6.0 iron block.

How well do these aluminium blocks stand up to a bore and a stroke?

You can do a 383 stroker with no problem. As for boreing you cant bore this block. Alot of guys are doing 408 strokers with the iron block lq4 or lq9 which is the iron version pretty much of the ls2. The only problem is iron block is 80 more pounds. You can do a 395 ls1 but not many around cause to big of stroke to bore ratio. They tend to burn oil and cause of the bigger stroke The pistons go so far in the bore which causes the pistons to rock side to side and lose seals on the rings
