Default Very new to LSX

I have a 2004 chevy colorado rcsb with a 2.8 and im lookimg into swapping an LQ4 into it.

Im very new to LSX engines and have been doing alot of reading in the past week. Im a 911 dispatcher and an emt. Im no mechanic, engineer, or fabricator but i enjoy learning and doing things for myself.

I know enough about automobiles to get me by and not be screwed at a garage.

From what ive read thus far im loking into this setup:

LQ4 6.0 iron block
317 heads (may boost down the road)
LS6, LS9, or edelbrock cams (still learning about all)
L76 or LS3 intake (still reading)
Flowmaster duals with X pipe (possibly Y'd and ran single out)

Like i said im still learning and PLENTY of threads to research. Im no stranger to forums so if i post a thread its genuine.

If theres any one place that is a good read id appreciate the link. Also if there is any suggestions or flaws about my list let me know. I wont get butthurt.

Thanks for all the info on this forum thus far!!!
