Default 2000 T/A New Guy

Hello, I am completely new to the LS1 platform. I was driving a cobalt ss for a long time and loved it. It started to fail and it was going to cost a lot to keep it running with the 164K miles that it had on it. I spoke with a good friend of mine who turned me onto the LS1 motors. I ended up buying a 2000 Formula with 71k miles on it bone stock.

The good
It only has 71K on miles,
It is bone stock,
EVERYTHING works
no leaks
it only cost me 7790
its a 6 speed

The bad,
alot of small chips
1 blown speaker.

I had to finance approximately 4800 so my game plan is every time I put a mod on the car I put at least that much on the car payment.

I am looking at doing a budget build. I am not going to be going to the track except for maybe once a year to fool around with a friend. I am going to be lurking around and trying to do as much research as possible before I ask the same questions as every other new guy.

Thanks for all of the information and help in advance.

Welcome to the site! It sounds like you got a great canvas to start with as those "bad" things are so minor.
