Introduction
Hello Everyone
I'm a little embarrassed to introduce myself and tell you what type
of vehicle I have because of the car's I've seen here at LS1.
I just wanted to join so I could learn more about the
LS series engines and trans combos and be able to ask questions
from knowledgeable people.
The vehicle I have came with a six and I thought in the beginning
that's the path I wanted to go down, but the more I thought about
it I decided I wouldn't be happy with a six, I've always owned
vehicles with V8's.
I started pricing the rebuilding of the Sixes vs.V8's and I think the
sixes cost will be higher, and what will I have in the end? a six with
125-150 h.p. for a mild build.
Which brings me to this site, I could purchase an engine out of a
truck with a 100,000 K miles on it and have more horsepower and
torque then the six, and at a lower cost. Well my mama didn't raise
no fool as the expression goes so I've decided to go with an LS
series engine and trans combo.
My "Avatar" shows what my '51 Chevy wagon looked like when I first
saw it in a junk yard in South Dakota.
If you would like to see more pictures of "Woodrow" that's the
name I gave him due to the faux wood on the outside and the
wood trim on the inside, you can go to my garage and see what
I'm up against.

Hello lsxstudebaker
Thanks for responding, What model Stude do you have? Did you purchase your
engine from an online source or did you purchase from a local pick your parts?,
was it very expensive? and why did you pick the LQ9 engine? I hope you don't
mind me asking you all these questions, but your the only person that responded
to my introduction. I see your new here also, I guess no one wants to talk to the
new guy.
