Hi from WNC Hey guys-just wanted to pop in and say hey. I'm Jared from Franklin, NC. Volvo guy at heart, and I was in the middle of building a 5 cylinder swap for my 79 244 when a 4.8 just kinda fell in my lap for $100 complete.
I've been involved with one 5.3 build (turbo, in an '81 Fairmont) and been around several more and have been really impressed with what these motors will do with minimal money and a bit of boost.
Looks like I'm gonna build it for my 79 using a turbo 400 trans a buddy (superbean) has kicking around in the shop. Really the only piece I'm missing is an 8.8 rear, but tracking one down shouldn't be too hard. Probably going to run it on Mega or Microsquirt.
