49 year old newbie Hello gang. Midlife crises. Had a 1970 Camaro 1982-1987. Sold it like a dumb butt of many. I bought a 2002'Sunset Orange Metallic Convertible SLP SS with 76000 miles on March 5, 2014. All original with no mods except Borla exhaust, newer top. Has SLP lid, 10 spoke chrome wheels, SS grille, 12 disc changer in trunk, boot and leather covers etc. Everything works. I have not been fully committed as my heart belongs to my first love.
If I decide to keep my car, what would you do first? Headers and cam? Wheels and tires? ( I want to protect the originals). Car runs strong, automatic. One of 48 per specs out of 42000 camaros in 2002. My problem is if I get a 70 I may miss the luxury the 2002 has. But if I commit to my car, I am all in.
Thanks for any advice. I would include pics if someone will tell me how. I am 49 and not techno stupid but occasionally have a challange

Welcome Youngster! Yeah like you say, 70 is a true old school muscle car but on the other hand the 02 is loaded with more high tech features and those LS engines are so sweet and dependable, IMHO. Make it easy; have one of each!

Thank you for your reply! I wish my pockets were deep enough for two. There is a guy on Craigslist that has a 71 Camaro that is the same color scheme as my 70 was. Very clean and straight. $16,000. My daughter has 2 more years of college so maybe then I can splurge!
Tell me about the wheels and tires you have.mdid you have to mod anything for the rears? I want a wider stance on mine and am considering tires and wheels soon. Will 18's fit okay?

Never too old brother, just think of all the nice old cars that we had in our younger life. I bought a 1970 r/t challenger with a 440 with 52,000 miles on it for $3200 back in the mid 80s. You have to post some pics soon
