Thanks all for the information available.
I currently own a Caddy CTS V with the LS 2. It will consistently run 27 MPG, or more, on the interstate. That has me thinking I can hit 30 mpg with a car that weighs almost a 1000 lbs less. Thus the 69 AMX might have an upgrade in the future.
I want to install a new LS3 in a 69 AMX. Looks like installing the motor seems straight forward, but the wiring and trans need a little more research.
The car is not a high optioned 390 car, so I am not destroying a really rare car. I bought this car for that reason. I will keep all original parts in case the next guy would want to put it back to stock. Which I think is highly unlikely.
