going for that Scandinavian swap Hey all,
I've always been a big fan of Swedish design and engineering so this past fall I picked up a couple of ratty volvos a 1989 740 wagon and a 1991 940 se. Sadly not even a month after purchasing the wagon blew a head gasket and is now stationary in my garage. Of course I could spend ~50 bucks on a head gasket and bandaid the 200k mile engine, but is that really what I want?
So I made the call and ordered some mounts from v8volvos.com and am just starting to gather parts. A little bit differently from other users I don't really have the want or need to drive about at 300mph, rather I'm just looking to replace the legendarily reliable volvomill with something equally reliable but easier to replace and repair if necessary, while maybe being a bit more efficient and having a bit more highway passing power lol.
If everything goes to plan (which it wont) I should have something cobbled together by June. Watch for a build thread I suppose.
Edit: so if anyone in SE MI/Central MI or NW Ohio has a line on a good cheap 5.3 or 4.8 I'm buying lol
