hey yall
brand new to the forum. been checking it out for the past month or so, amazing wealth of knowledge here it looks like. have a cherokee xj with the engine on the way out. decided it would make more sense to drop in a modern LS rather than just rebuild or get a new 4.0.
been doing a lot of research and i guess currently im leaning toward a 5.3 LC9 & 6L80e combo from a 2010+ silverado or similar. i like the aluminum block, VVT, AFM. my goal for this build isnt huge horse numbers (though it will def be a bump over the mopar/amc 4.0) but rather nice smooth reliable preformance and decent mpg. want to try keep everything as stock looking as possible. lookin forward to dig into it! cheers!
