New to site Hello, long time lurker here. I recently bought a 87 gmc stepside truck pw power locks in perfect condition save for the paint job, not one piece in the interior etc is broken.. ill try to post a build thread asap. 3 days after buying it i purchased a ls1 from an 01 silverado that i get onb monday, got a vette cam, springs, and the other items needed for the swap, i still need a 500-600hp 700r4 trans as i plan to turbo it with 317?? heads.
Right now the truck has no posi so im going to get one and 3.42 gears. i installed a door lock unlock and remote start and a manual column so i can put a floor shifter in it......

Hi welcome to site. Im getting ready to do my 88 4dr squarebody 1/2 ton I put together from pieces. 5.3/ 4L60E combo. a lot of them on here in conversion section. Mine has camper special 12 bolt suburban rear 3:73 gear posi. I wouldnt even run the 700r4. go to a 4L80E since plans for turbo. Since converting you be further a head doing that now.
