Default Hi

I've been nosing around here for a while trying to gain a little clarity for an upcoming project and finally decided to register. I'm sure I'll have some dumb questions to ask. See you around

Gotta start somewhere. I've been reading a lot here lately, but still can;t find anything directly related to what I want to do. Looks like dumb question time is drawing near.....

As the old saying goes "there are no dumb questions" except for the one I hear from my kids all the time "Are we there yet?" What's your project?

'04 LM7/4L60E in a 1985 Fleetwood Brougham Coupe. As I understand it, this FWB D Body is essentially a stretched B Body.

Sweet! I had to google that car as I didn't recognize the name. WHat's funny is just this past weekend I saw a very similar caddy on the I-5 while leaving Seattle for Vancouver. I thought it was a pretty sharp looking ride, and I wondered what type of engine it had, he was moving pretty fast, and while it was not an obvious "hot rod" I noticed he had some rather large (3 inch?) dual exhaust. Hell of a sleeper!

There is just something about those '80s RWD Coupes that does it for me. They ride good, effortless to drive around, and you generally don't see a lot of them that look nice. They have that 1980"s Scarface gangster type appeal. I don't care much about racing. I'd just like to not have the 4.1 in it. They are far from durable engines and I want something I can drive for a decent distance without wondering if I'll make it there and back, lol. For budget, LM7/4L60E looks like the way to go. LM7 would be roughly 2x the power the 4.1 had brand new.
