Old dog - new tricks
A 1969 El Camino followed me home from El Paso. I am an old school guy tired of all the 350/350 combinations. The thought is to do an LS 5.3 with a 4L60E. Lots to consider going in especially if you don't have unlimited resources. But I hear horror stories concerning:
Oil pan interference, motor mounts, converting the wiring harness, new to old gauges/lights, transmission mounts, fuel return lines, reverse flow radiator, fly by wire throttle, and the expenses that go along with making it all work. Most importantly, I gotta' have AC. It is 103 degrees outside right now!
What truck motor do I choose that will allow use of the stock accessory drive set up? I just won't pop for an aftermarket accessory drive set up. Help me do a junk yard crawl to get things started right!
