New member Hello everyone, and thank's for the add, my name is felix, been into cars my whole life and looking to do one last project before I get any older lol I have a 1988 cutlass with factory V8 a one owner car with recently hitting 159 k original miles, the interior is mint, but it definitely needs a paint job and lots of horse power lol so with that being said I have been doing a lot of reading on the ls swaps and I definitely want to do it, so can u tell me what is a good year doner for a 5.3 ? looking forward to getting to know the ls1 tech family.

welcome to site. 99-06 gen 3 5.3 are easy to find. Silverado/sierra trucks and all suv have them. 04-06 4x4 trucks sometimes has the L33 5.3 which is all aluminum and factory rated 315 hp. Iron block 5.3 are rated 280hp stock. try buy everything from same donor its easier to get going. 99-02 are cable throttle and 03-06 are dbw throttle. Dbw requires changing gas pedal and tach box/wiring no big deal tho. Lt1Swap.com has great wiring info. Many g-body cars on here. Follow them and you can get this done.
