Yep another one
Hi all, my name is Ian and I'm another newb to this forum, looking for any help/info I can get working on putting a LS1/T56 from a 2002 Trans Am into my 1989 IROC 305/T5 after I threw a rod through the oil pan when I was being an idiot, also I live in California so I'm going to have to pass SMOG. This is my second third gen but first time I'm undertaking such a big change.
Previously I had a run through 1985 Trans Am with a built 305 TPI bored 60 over that had a T5 swap, I got the car that way and after blowing up the T5 twice I upgraded to a T56 from a 1996 Formula. I had that car for about ten years but never was able to get it to pass SMOG. While going through some rough times I attempted to sell the T/A but ended up trading it for the Camaro which was unmolested and currant on registration just much slower, and unknowingly carrying some engine issues leaving me where I am now.
