Default glad to be here

hello everyone little background on myself. im 32 just got a great deal on a 72 nova that is going to be a long term project my goal is to have it on the street lookin sharp within 3 years from now. I have a wrecked 00 Silverado that im pulling the motor 5.3 switching to carb and t56 trans and a 9in rear end. I have built multiple jeep Cherokees, couple prerunner rangers, a suburban mud truck, have done 302 swap into a ranger and have never paid a mechanic a dime in my life! if it breaks I can fix it. ill start a build thread eventually I just got the car last Friday and am super stoked to be part of the classic community. ill do my part using the search function to find what I need I really have enjoyed my time lingering in the shadows on this sight very informative. thanks guys and gals

I've been a 3rd gen Nova owner myself for many years now, these are great cars. Good choice on the carb setup IMO, I like old tech in old cars and proper carb tuning is becoming a lost art, one of which I still take pride in myself.

Welcome.

Default carb vs efi

thanks guys!
I could hook up the efi but I like the simplicity of being able to tune the carb im my garage with minimal hand tools vs needing to have the computer tuned for efi. also like RPM said I too like the art of carb tuning and I have a 750 holley now and im sure I can help cover some of the costs of the manifold and 6ls box im gonna sell the entire efi system off the truck computer wireing harness manifold rails injectors all of it. I am gonna part out the truck the motor came from I just using the bottom end and heads. I have the complete truck bent the frame hitting a ditch.

Computor is no big deal if engine stock. Lt1Swap does them cheap send by mail quick turn around time. The truck stuff will sell but most people want car intake.

Some of us actually find carb tuning to be rewarding. For those who do not, EFI is always available.
