Newbie from Oklahoma Hello...
Been reading up on these LS motor swaps off and on for couple yrs now..kinda been planning this swap for a while now and finally decided to jump into it.
I pulled the ol' 5.7 700r4 out of my 88 Chevy silverado last week and purchased a 5.3 vortec from the JY this week. Came with all excessories: a/c, alternator, power steering pump, DBW, PCM, harness, all sensors.... should of taken the 4LE60 since it makes the swap a touch easier... will pick one up this next week. The 88 has been sitting for 7 plus yrs... so interior and some other stuff needs attention as well. Anyhow, I decided to join to get a few answers that I haven't found on this swap. Any pointers would be helpful....
My 5.3 has one fuel line. I want to use all factory gauges and controls. A/c, electric fans as well.

I forgot to ask... my old ECM harness.. there are 3 relays, 2 double back 6 pin connectors, 1 single connector, and 1 more 2 pin connector... the relays tie into the 2 6 pin connectors going out through firewall and as well some tie into the old ECM. Will I need some of those wires and connectors. My plan was to unhook old ECM and cut off wires even with firewall but notice several other connectors located in that bundle.
