New Member Hi, all dropping a line in here to introduce myself. I purchased a 91 C1500 RegCab/Short Bed about 2 years ago to swap in an LS. A cross country move and a baby later Im finally getting around to it. I'm doing the research and reading and I'll post a thread in the appropriate section but Im really just looking to drop in a 5.3 with my existing tranny and enjoy the truck......maybe nitrous and a 4l80e later but for right now just driving. I found one local, claimed to be out of a 03 Tahoe. Guy seemed honest and said he checked the rad support and read 5.3 not 4.8 and the truck had 147k miles and he drove the salvage vehicle it came out of. It is cable driven and he is selling it with everything, all accessories, ecu and harness for $600. The block however was covered in rust, with what appeared like a layer of paint or even material flaking off of it, thats why I didnt buy it on the spot. What do you guys think?
