Hello From Alabama About to attempt a engine swap on a 1954 Belair and thought this would be a good starting point for information! Seems when I search the topic most google results bring me here, which is a great complement to the forums.
Name is Zac, and I have been around classic cars all my life though I must admit that my mechanical knowledge is very limited for a car guy.
I work for a company that buys and sells classic cars in Birmingham, AL. We have a little down time after selling off almost our entire collection so I've got some space in our place to do a little tinkering with my personal belair. Its a 1954 Belair 4 Door Sedan. Yes, I know, its a four door and it will never be worth anything, but I would like to put a 5.3L in it and some modern conveniences such as air conditioning, Power Steering, and Power brakes. The outside will stay as is because the car will only be worth so much because of the extra doors.
My main hobby is competitive shooting and I would like to build this car to drive back and forth to the range and some local matches.
Looking forward to working on the build and updating the progress as she comes along!
