Hello all,
Names Turbo Tim from Union Grove, WI I have been floating around here soaking up all the useful information. Couple months back I had a Ford Ranger with 400,000+ miles on it used from a NAPA parts used as a parts runner that I frankensteined using 2.3l ford turbo internals and added a turbo.. Was fun but not fun enough. I had a customer come in before Christmas 2016 and offer an LM4 aluminum block 5.3l for a very reasonable price and I bought it thinking I would find something to put it in.
Well I did end up pulling the turbo 2.3 out and managed to get the LM4 in (sits amazingly in the engine bay) run off a Megasquirt MS3 with ms3x fully sequential. Coupled to a th400 using a custom 4" 1330 ujoint drive shaft to a 31 splined axle 8.8" limited slip rear end... This setup is how they should have came from factory. I recently converted to manual as the truck was originally manual. I am using a Super T10 2.43 first gear but will be converting back to auto to sell the manual box for extra funds. Plan is to twin ebay turbo. Sorry if this was too extended of a intro. Thanks for read,
