Behind the times Hi guys and gals,
I'm Scott, from Missouri. Long time gm fan and still loving it. I came across this forum, recommended by a friend who is doing his own lsx build.
Mine is simpler. Much simpler. Make my DD more reliable, last longer and get better fuel economy.
My DD is a 96 GMC Suburban. I bought it for $1500 in 2015 put a few bucks in it and roled over 40k miles on the 5.7, before she really started getting tired at 214k miles. After souring, or failing to source a good used engine at a decent price. My friend said hey just put a 5 3 in it.
So the adventure began. Bought a donor truck, and have been tweeking and cleaning a few hours a week since june. I now have my 5.3 ready to install.
This forum has been very helpful. But as mentioned more than once there are no straight answers as each build is different.
