New to the LS world Hi, my name is Jeff. I just recently got my first LS 5.3 I am very familiar with the old SBC. Now I am looking at learning this engine platform.

Same here. I Just put a 5.3 iron gen3 motor into a 240sx. Also very familiar with old SBC.
Its a new world. To make the most of it on a budget, I follow FSM procedure for engine assembly, use OEM parts, and learn to use HPtuners because factory computers are very cheap "stand-alones".
