I have been here many times trying to learn good sound LS tech. I recently came across an LQ4 with 98k on it and decided it needed to come to a good, which happens to be my 1994 GMC. The truck belonged to my brother, who has recently gone through some very nasty strokes. The truck only has 68k on the odometer and is near and dear to my heart. I love the truck, but I just can't get beyond that 350 TBI! I live in Oregon (my brother in California), and recently retired. I got really bored and began to stay up later, which means I wa sleeping later and later, so decided I needed to occupy my time with a new hobby, or a job. Since I'm am recently retired, I quickly found out that hobbies cost more money than my little pension could handle, so I chose to get a job... The good news is, I work at a local parts place that offers their employees a really good discount on parts, sometimes better than 50 percent! So, I benefitted by getting my head out of my rectim, earn a little extra cash and get a killer deal on most of my auto parts. I killed two birds with one stone, so to speak...

I raised five children, who are all out of the house now. As most of you parents out there know, all those kids kept me too busy and broke to be in the hot rod business, so I have been out of the game for a long time. I used to work for GM as a mechanic back in the early 80's and I still have some skill with a wrench and do a pretty decent job at troubleshooting, but I am so far behind the power curve as far as LS's are concerned! This is all soooooo new to me, but I like what I am seeing so far! I wish they were around when I was building cars back in the day! I also own a 1965 El Camino with a Hienz 57 350 in it. I was so excited to strap on some old feulie heads I had from back in the day, only to have folks tell me, "throw them away and get yourself some Vortec heads." That's how lost I am with all this stuff, but hey... I'm a quick learner and I still love those camel hump heads!
