Hey guys my name is Ryan. Been looking around the forum for quite a while just reading and learning without ever registering and always had good luck finding answers. Finally hit a brick wall! But that will be posted elsewhere in the appropriate area. Always loved Chevy motors and the potential they have. Finally got ahold of my first LSx about a year ago and slowly gathered parts for my swap. My vehicle is a 1992 GMC single cab short bed truck. Used to be a 4.3/5 speed truck. It's got a lot of sentimental value. My mother bought it new off the lot and sold it to a relative who sold it to a relative then I got ahold of it when I was 15 and immediately knew the v6 just wouldn't do. Ended up with a gen1 355 with way too much cam and not enough converter. Wrong intake, too small of a carb. It was pretty terrible, was slower than the v6 and got the worst mileage I've ever seen. Thought I knew more than I actually did. Learned my lesson, and after I realized the potential of the LSx I knew I had to have one and immediately jumped on this forum and spent a ton of time reading. Now I've got a 5.3/4l60e in the truck. Oddly enough all swap parts came out of an '03 Tahoe but not the same 03 Tahoe. Has longtubes, 2.5" duals with an xpipe and straight through borlas, intake, 2800 stall and Summit Racing's version of the ASA cam which is basically just the ASA but 1 degree less on the intake side. Trans is a rebuilt unit with Alto red eagle 3/4 clutch pack with kolene steels, others are high energy, beast sunshell, rebuilt pump, aluminum accumulator pistons, corvette solenoid, kevlar band, and of course a shift kit. Was tuned by Shane Hinds in Illinois close to St. Louis. Used to live in the St. Louis area but recently moved to Tennessee, south of Clarksville. I think that's all I've got guys and gals.
