Hi everyone,
Just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and my project truck. My name is Randy and I live in Alberta, Canada.
I recently bought a 2000 Chev Silverado 1500 RCSB and over the next few weeks I’ll be putting a turbo on it. Here’s a pic and a video of a walkaround of the truck and some initial baseline testing.
In stock form, it went 15.41 at 97.5mph in the quarter. My goal is eventually to run 11.50’s.
I’ve ordered a cast 7875 turbo and a 44mm wastegate from VS Racing that should be arriving soon. I’m already in the process of building a manifold to mount the turbo. Here’s a pic of the manifold during the construction, and a video of the process.
I’ll be using HP Tuners to do the tuning and plan on doing all the work myself. My local track opens in about 6 weeks, so my goal is to have the turbo installed and functioning in time to make the opening day at the track. Future upgrades planned are a 4L80E swap and possibly a rear axle upgrade.
I’ll keep this thread updated with pics and video as I make progress.
Thanks,
Randy Engler
