EFI noob with LS swap
I am trying to learn on this project with plans for an EFI conversion on an old mechanical injection setup. I work in technology, but have always been old school tech with cars.

Is the PCM that's connected to it the original for that engine? It almost sounds like it has a van PCM.
This weekend I'll do an inventory of the parts such as MAF type/injectors, etc. But I need another week until I have time to hack into the PCM.
The truck PCMs have a 99 mph speed limiter on them. If you have a smaller tire or shorter gear ratio that the truck was originally equipped with, it would explain your 81 mph speed limiter.
From the sounds of it, the PCM isn't properly setup. Would explain your problems.
