N00B Alert! Do Not Read!!
I am new to the LS scene, but not to performance builds of many types. I recently sold my 9 second Duster and with a bit of the proceeds have started building an LQ9 based stroker. I picked up a very nice specimen and I have the rotating assembly all ready to go..I even spent money on balancing. I sold the MoPar because I have a bit more time available these days, and I want a vehicle that doesn't require race gas(no E85 in this entire state) to do more than idle.
These LS engines are far less expensive to build than a small block MoPar of equal output.
I mostly build 16 valve DOHC inline 4 motorcycle engines, so building another pushrod V8 is a rather nice change of pace.
I started a computer services Co. in 1997, and worked both that and my day job until Y2K. I left the shelter of working for another and turned my part-time gig into a full-time plus endeavor. The tech crash of 2000-2001 only left me with more customers as I had very little overhead and my competitors had much more. I sold that biz in late 2015 and am under a non-comp until 1/2020. I didn't want to merely sit around so I started another business. I now sell mostly brass push-on pipe fittings. This has worked out as well as I could have reasonably hoped.
I hope that I can contribute positively to the community.
Thanks for having me, and thanks for reading,
aT
