New to the site
I have two wonderful young boys 11 and 14 at this time that are both very much into cars and both want to become mechanics. We just bought a 1981 Malibu in great shape that currently has a 3.8 V6. Well that just won't do. LOL!! So now with the LS. Well LM7 5.3L Just picked it up this past Friday, totally tore it down and off to the machine shop. Going to keep the bottom end standard but total freshin up. Keeping the stock 706 Heads as well, but going to have them cut for 2.00" intake valve and upgrade the spring. Along with a full port, polish and gasket match as well.
Engine will get a new intake and carb along with a MSD 6LS controller. Just to decided as in which cam to use? Looking around a 3000 stall in a th350 with an 8.8 ford rear end with either 3:73 to 4:10 gears. Car will be street driven but want a bit more rowdy setup so I want a lumpy sound still so maybe 110 to 112 LSA?
Well that sums it up. Thanks for reading and please share your thoughts.
