Been here awhile, but finally picked up an LS for my autocross car. Hoping to get some combination advise on here. Looks like a knowledgeable group. I have done several engines, and head and cam swaps on the LS, as well as gen 1 small blocks, and even some small block Ford stuff. I'm ditching my gen 1 small block in favor of a 5.3. This will be a complete build, but am unsure what all I am going to need to work for what I have.
It will be going into a 2,175 lb. C4 Corvette. Need as close to 400 rwhp I can get. It will be backed by the current built 700R4. It has a tight 1,800 stall in it that I will end up changing out to something in the 2,800 area. I have been thinking milled 317 heads (already have a set, and a set of crappy 862's), 4.8 flat tops, and rods for floating pins. The camshaft I am unsure of. I need a wide power band 2,500-7,000, as the tracks vary. Any advise is appreciated.
