Hello everyone, I've been apart of this forum group now for a couple of weeks and I have been reading a lot of different content. I don't really have any questions or anything, I am finally an LS owner of a 2005 GTO m6, I got a great deal on the car and I have wanted one since I was in high school (12 years ago). I always told myself if I was ever to get one it was going to have low miles and I didn't care if I had to pay 20 grand for it and I wanted it to be stock if at least only an exhaust mod was done to it. Well... throw all that out the window, I bought a cammed, bored .30 over LS2, with magnaflow straight piped, stock manifolds, stock heads for the most part (upgraded push rods, double valve springs, and titanium seats). Well I had it for about two weeks and all was fine but (mistake time) it was raining one night, I was headed to one of my friends daughters bday parties about 30 min from my house. I picked up a friend, he had not ridden in the car yet, well the ego part of me came out and I wanted to show out (in the damn rain), and I revved it up to around 6800 one time, all the sudden I heard this ticking. This being my first push rod motor I was freaking the **** out. Turns out a lifter collapsed. Well, now it's about a month later and the car is on jack stands the engine is on a stand as well, and it's down to the block lmao. What on earth have I gotten myself into. Now I am doing all this research and trying to find out the best way to build my motor because obviously all options are available now. I am sending it to the machine shop sometime hopefully this week to get cleaned up and do whatever it is that they do. Oh well, you live and learn by living and trying, but if you never try then was it really worth it to live and learn in the first place. (dumb quote, I know).

Shoot, I'm just now seeing this lol. Well I started a whole nother thread talking about my goat forgetting I had already started this one. Long story short, I had a lifter collapse and now the block is on an engine stand (removing everything), and I will start the build soon (I hope).
