Howdy, from the Geronimo Texas area! From the South Central Texas area just east of San Antonio. Professionally a Heavy Equipment and OTR Truck Tech. Have been tinkering, building, racing off and on most of my life.
Working on gathering information and ideas for a couple of truck projects that will utilize LSx power.

Hey Josh, I am fairly new to the LSx swaps also. Researching a project and looking at options due to my 1986 K5 project truck being wrecked. Rebuild options are floating anywhere from stock to a complete frame swap and LSx (actually a LQ9) upgrade.

sounds fun. I have a 1985 dodge d100 I would love to ls swap and get rid of the little 318 it has. Not sure I’m up for that challenge yet especially since most of my $ will go to the new Trans am I bought but in the future it’s gonna be a project.

Get the trans with the engine Sugeest if you plan to do a LS swap into the Dodge, get the engine and trans from the same donor vehicle with all the wiring and pcm/ecm.
From everything I have read, it will make your life way simpler, auto or standard.
