Good afternoon Everyone
I decided it was time to take a break from building classic mustangs for a while and decided to try my had at doing an LS build, and boy did I jump right in up to my neck.
Purchased a VERY clean 98 Trans Am roller for a great price considering the shape it was in and all the stuff it had done to it. "BMR Turbo K-Member, BMR Torque Arm Relocation, Built 9" with Viking Coil Overs, Sub Frame Connectors, New Rims and tires and Perfect Interior and Beautiful Paint"
I then decided to ****** up a 2001 Camaro with 140k Miles for a parts car priced at $1000 complete and have proceeded to remove all the good parts and pieces I need for my TA build, which has consisted of the following.
Complete Rebuild of the 5.7 LS1 with light hone on the cyls, polish and cleaning of the crank, Summit forged Rods and pistons with all new ARP hardware, King Rod and main bearings, rebuilt stock heads with Trunion upgrade, Summit Stage II Turbo cam with appropriate springs and titanium retainers, stock LS1 intake from a Corvette "Non EGR", Snake Eater 1500 injectors "may be a bit big on injectors" and Holley Fuel Rails. The motor is complete and sitting on the stand waiting to go in.
I also finally received my complete Huron Speed T4 V2 AC Turbo kit (78/75 Billet wheel Turbo) and am awaiting my torque converter from PATC "Should be here this week" Transmission is a Built TH350 with JW Bell, full reverse manual Valve body, Roller everything with a bunch of billet goodies etc...
I have owned a few older Trans Am's over the years 75-80 models, but always wanted a 4th Gen ever since I saw them in 95 and now that I am financially able I am going full bore.
My final plan for the car is pretty simple... low to mid 10s (minimum 700rwhp) Street car with AC and power everything that I can drive anywhere and not worry about it.
Looking forward to this build and hoping to get some good help from everyone on the forums.
Thanks,
Mike
