BBC to LS/LT
Clearly new here, San Diego and 40yo. I am on several other forums but going down the black hole so jumped on here for expert advise. Had a 462 BBC pushing 630ish HP/TQ in a C10, Currie 9+, Detroit locker, 3.70, 31 spline axels, 4" alum driveshaft and some chassis parts. Very nose heavy and non stop spinning. Sold the Engine and TH400 to fund a LS or LT. Cant get away from the L96/LY6 and looking at Boost but love the advancements to the L86. I know the L96/LY6 has a great history and is damn near ready for boost and a bit cheaper. Could buy a L96 engine and trans for cheap ($1500-$2000) and build up the rotating assembly for the price of a L86 and trans ($6500ish). Then i debate the benefits of DI and VVT. Not to sure about boosting an L86 yet. Love the 8L90 trans also which would keep me looking at the L86. Wiring harness/Computer would need to be custom anyways and both engines are about the same price there.
Opinions would help, thanks guys.
Richard.
