Picked up a 01 ws6 about 2 years ago for 1800 bucks. Said it wouldn’t start so i decided to buy it anyways with paint looking like garbage and a dent in the left quarter. Got it home found out the ear on the block for the starter broke off. Jerry rigged a starter up and car fired right up with no valve train noise no nothing. Ended up pulling the engine and putting a 228r cam in with a 4l80e and a 3200 circle d stall and some 799 heads and ls6 intake. Engine looked rough when we pulled it cylinder 8 had hot spots and the cam had pitting all over it and all the pushrods had rust. Needless to say that engine didn’t last long. Fast forward 8 months after that blew up i ended up putting a l76 block with arp rod bolts, main studs in it and replacing the pistons. Kept the 799 heads and ls6 intake. Upped my stall to a 4K put in a ms4 cam and installed a ms4 cam. Put it on a drag pack and just a lot of other things here and there and the car pulls like a freight train. Couldn’t be happier with how it’s turned out so far.
Some snort for it, jab a vein but I prefer to be behind the wheel of a mean machine and staged on the tree. Look forward to seeing your car progress.
this car has come along way in 4 months lol! 6.0 swapped with the big ol cam that everyone hates and moser 12 bolt with 4.56’s that just went in like two weeks ago. I may end up doing a fast and heads next spring but we will see how it does at Pontiac nationals this year. I’ve always been a 6 speed guy and I am coming for a 04 c5z but this stalled auto life is pretty fun!

oh i have so much fun with it so far! Banging gears is cool and all but coming up on the converter and smoking 1-2 and a bit into third is a blast. I really can’t wait to get this to the track with these 4.56’s and see what it runs. Could be disappointed or could be happy. If I’m disappointed looks like I’ll be swapping cams and ordering a on3 twin kit lol!
