Can't help but not post. Sold my 98 Z28 9 years ago. Was in a nasty custody dispute and needed some cash. So 9 years later, married, oldest kid with me full time, good career. I tracked down and found that buyer I sold too still had and ready to sell. Has some tasteful additions. H/C/I, 3600 stall from. 3200 and new hood.. Looking forward to cruising with my boys.
I bought my '98 Z28 from the original owner back in 2004. I bought it as a sort of changeling/replacement for an almost identical '99 Z28 that *I* had bought brand new but then sold after an accident. The previous owner of my '98 was adamant about me contacting him first if I ever sold the car, the only reason he was selling was to use that money to finish an addition on his house for his young and growing family. To this day, I have kept his information just in case I should ever want to sell. And I'm sure he would be happy to know that I've only put 7k miles on the car since he sold it to me 17 years ago, it's just been a showpiece in my garage and it's every bit as nice as the day he sold it to me.
So, it seems that sometimes these things actually DO work out.
That's so cool! I reached out at about year 5 and he offered to sell then but I wasn't financially ready yet. We started talking again in March. Was pretty cool, his whole family is in to racing. Son has gto and a lsx cat eye. He's got a 69 Malibu wagon. Grandkids race too. He's done good with this one. Plan to spend summer working out some kinks, upgrade lights and stereo. Next year maybe lower the front slightly and in a fee years give it a respray
