New kid on the block
I've been a LS1Tech forum lurker for some time and finally joined as im starting a build and would like to get some fresh feedback as well as provide current insight to anyone else that is doing a similar build to mine or wants ideas during the process!
I recently picked up a 1993 Formula Firebird M6, black, with 41K original miles. It is easily 8.5/10 as far as how clean it is; however, it was sitting for quite sometime and is overdo for some serious TLC and of course modding.
A bit of background on myself, my first car was a 1967 El Camino with a 350 Cleveland as most previous vehicle prior to the Formula was a 2014 Raptor 6.2 with Roush supercharger (I know, it was a Ford; but it was fun).
Most of my hands on experience with vehicles has been on motorcycles; 2009 CBR600RR, 2001 GSXR-750, 2007 R6, and Buell XB12R & XB9R (I do miss the Buells).
The plan is to do all or as much work as possible on the firebird myself. That said I will be learning quite a bit here and hoping to help others in the process.
Made some big life changes (sobriety), quit my big time accounting job (own a small business now) and have now picked up a new project that will staple the new life chapter. Goal is to grow the Formula Firebird as I grow!
Ill be starting a build thread and updating it regularly during the process seeing as some of the information in prior threads is a bit dated due to now unavailable parts or new parts available on the market.
Hopefully it will also provide some insight for 93-97 LT1 owners and specific intricacies of the 93' that may cause hiccups in the build (such as OBD1)
Thank you for having me and I look forward to this fun journey!

On a final note, yes, I already had to replace the optispark after 2 weeks owning the car, hopefully one of y'all gets a laugh out of it. I replaced it with an Accel optispark to hopefully avoid near term replacement.
