Picked up a 2000 T/A recently that has been ridden hard and not cared for very well. This car is for my oldest daughter, she just turned 15 and got her permit, she loves it but so does dad...lol.... now dad wants one!!!! We are a Bird family... We have a '69, two '79 T/A and now this 2000. May just look to trade my Challenger off on another 4th Gen.
It had a bad vibration and weird clanking/rattling noise which I wound up finding was trans bellhousing bolts backing out and clanging against the converter. So I got my first taste of the joy of removing a trans in one of these... not much fun and cost me some stitches when I smashed my hand into a heat shield thus delaying the repair. I took the day off of work a few days later and finished removal, repair and reinstall. Runs good now
It's crazy loud accelerating with full length headers and whatever exhaust it has so may just look to tone it down a little bit by installing a bullet style muffler inline.
Spent most of the weekend cutting, polishing and waxing the girl which I don't think was done in forever. Made a giant difference and now I need to keep an eye out for replacement panels, she needs a few and figure out why this headlight won't work and retract. Anyways here are a few pics, the first is before I bought it and the others after a lot of elbow grease
