I am new to this forum as I have just "Finished up" my Factory Five 65 Coupe with an LS-based engine.
The Engine Block is a 5.3 Liter LC9 out of a 2005 Yolkon XL.
Originally I wanted to bore it out to do a 383 Stroker and the machine shop I went to agreed to it verbally, said there would be no problem, and told me a price. But later they told me it would cost an additional 600 bucks that I didn't have to bore it out, and suggested I just go with a 363 stroker instead as it would be "just as good". Knowing what I know now I definitely shouldn't have listened to their advice and should have done a lot more research than I did.
Regardless I entirely built this block up. Important Parts listed Below.
-Comp Cams Cam Shaft - 277LRHR13 - From the recommendation of Comp Cams
- Holley Terminator X Max ECU - With DBW Control
- CNC Works 63980 Eagle LS 5.3 363 Pro Street Rotating Assembly 10.9:1 Mahle Pistons 58T w/ H beam Rods, Internally Balanced. (Forged)
- Trick Flow® GenX® 220 Cylinder Heads for GM LS1 TFS-30610001 with upgraded springs to allow for the lift of the cam.
- Injector size: 64lb/hr @ 60 ps
- T56 Magnum Transmission
The car Static compression Ratio is about 11.2:1
When getting it dyno tuned it made 421 hp @ 5985 rpm and 390 ft/lbs ad 5019 rpm on a hub dyno. I've included the dyno Chart in the pictures below.
The Car has been a lot of fun to build over the last 3 years. As of about 2 months ago it is finally registered and licensed to drive on the street. But it still has a lot of small stuff left to work on. I've
