Florida Brit Hi everyone. I am a British ex pat living in Florida since June 2000. 8 years in S. E. Michigan before that. I always loved American cars and the American style hot rodding scene. I have built and restored many cars over the years going back to my first Firebird Formula 400 that I owned in England in 1978. I have strayed to other types of vehicle during my time here, old Jaguars, a 1937 Plymouth Coupe, A Diamond T Truck to name a few, but I still keep coming back to my favorite body style, the 70's F Body and Firebirds in particular. This time I went all out (by my standards) and am building a full DSE equipped pro touring car based on a 79 Firebird that no longer looks like a 79. It has a GM Connect and Cruise LS 427/570 package, and this is the first time I have built a car with a fuel injected engine. So I figured it was time for me to sign up here and see if I can bring my brain up to date with how to operate these things. Back in the 80's and 90's I was a Ford Engineer working on intake manifolds and stuff. I was the guy that developed the first plastic intakes for the European market, and that is what brought me to Detroit in 1992. I quit the industry in 2000 and became a residential builder, but never lost my love for good looking fast cars.
