Hi my name is James and I have swaped a 1995 GMC c3500 single cab dually with the 6.5 turbo diesel dbw and the NV4500 trans.

I have swaped it out for a 2003 5.3 ls dbw out of a 03 4x4 1500 Silverado.

all in all pretty nice swap still have tons of hauling and towing power.

Welcome! Sounds like a nice swap. Why did you go to a 5.3 instead of a 6.0? Ease of locating a 5.3? I have an '06 Silverado 2500 HD and I'm sooo glad it has a 6.0 in it for towing.

 

Just had one siting around and had a 6.0 just was going to put it in the 85 monte carlo but now I'm 454 swapn it and the 5 3 in the 95 gmc dually already and Soni sold the 6.0 now my 454 is going in the monte out of a 87 crew cab squarebody dually v30 and I'm 24v cummin shaping from a 2nd gen dodge in to the squarebody. This spring.

That's cool, sounds like you're all about the swaps over there! I haven't done one yet, but I might LS swap my VW Golf if I get ambitious enough.

Nice! Welcome to the Form. Was it a new 5.3 or was it pulled from something else? I just put a rebuilt 5.3 in my 2004 GMC from Powertrain Company. It was a good deal.

 

Used at 151000 miles 2003 5.3 ls DBW mated to a manual nv 4500 trans.
