So im rebuilding a 4L80E using jakes stage 2. Reason for rebuild was loss/weak reverse.Tried extending servo rod, didnt do anything so thought the band was toast.
got it out and apart and noticed, the front band(slimmer one) fricton material was seperated completly. Going through the rest of the build, it was very clear it was just rebuilt.You can read the made in mexico on the old frictons still. My question is, what caused the band to fail? Cheap band? I want to make sure i correct where the last person went wrong.
