Default Hello! I would like to introduce myself, and my robot friend :P

Hello all, I guess I should start by telling y'all a bit about myself. Grew up in Seattle and have been in South Carolina for the last 20+ years. Ex race car driver who allllllllllmost made it, haha. I drove primarily road racing cars, formula and prototype sports cars, but have a few hundred hours in asphalt and dirt oval cars as well. I am an old guy now and as such I am more focused on my passion of cars, not so much track driving (but to be fair I will always jump at the chance to stretch a car on a closed course, especially if i can take a victim along for the ride lol).

I am embarking on a bucket list project that should start around the middle of October, this year. The project? I am building a Superlite SLC from RCR. I have always loved the class C La Mans cars and I can not wait to have one to make my own and drive to cars and coffee along with other events.

As i am sure some do not know what an SLC is, its basically a racing car rolling chassis that you can put any engine you wish into. The car is designed and manufactured by Fran Hall of Race Car Replicas in Detroit Michigan, it has a fantastic racing history (similar to that of the Radical), and is based around the LS engine package. The car is beautiful, in a very timeless sense, and is easily registered for the street. The car has seen speeds of over 200mph, can handle 1500hp engine packages, and for me, it is the pinnacle of street based component cars.

Now, to the real reason I am here, My robot friend! I have been educating my self on all things AI for some time now and have been working with chat GTP 4. I am thinking it would be a very fun experience to have GTP4 help design my LS engine build! I have had quite a few conversations so far with the bloke and it seems to have some interesting ideas on builds within the constrains I have given it.

I would love to hear what the community thinks of this idea, I would also like to know from the admins on where best to put this build thread.

The idea is that I will publish all interactions with the AI and build as advised, unless the community clearly points out a fault that needs to be corrected.

I think it would be a fun use of this new tech. I have lots to post already, just want to know where it would be best received on the forum.

Fair winds, following seas, and keep the rods on the inside!
looking forward to reading the replies!
Ian

I'd be more interested in watching a robot build your car. Picking parts is so easy, even a cave man can do it.
