Recently bought a 1998 Z28 m6 convertible. Totally in love with it. Working on a clunking noise coming from the back atm (which I cant seem to figure out).

The clunking could be a lot of things but start with the easy stuff. There’s a good chance that the rear sway bar bushings and or end link bushing are worn out and the sway bar is flopping around over bumps. I bet (hope) it’s something along those lines. When I got mine about a year ago I had to replace the front and rear sway end links as well as the torque arm bushing. When the torque arm bushing was bad the torque arm was making knocking sound over bumps as well. Another rear clunk I had one time was the brake calipers after a brake job. The bolt that holds the slide pin worked its way loose so..

Yeah that was my first thought as well. But ive checked all bushings in the rear, and sway bar end links. All seems in very good shape. Very sturdy. Also no play in the wheels when shaking them in the air.
I should mention the sound only appears on low speed cornering. I am going out in a couple hours trying to recreate the sound and hopefully record it.
